Profile and approach

Konstantinos Tsegas was born and raised in Athens. He graduated from the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1987 with distinction, and was admitted to the Athens Bar Association in 1988.

His practice moved early towards complex commercial and corporate work. He has acted as legal adviser to major corporate groups, construction companies and multinational organisations operating in Greece. In 2005 he was admitted to practise before the Supreme Court of Greece (Areios Pagos), which carries rights of audience before the country’s highest courts, including the Council of State and the Court of Audit.

Alongside private practice, he has held office within the institutions that regulate Greek tourism. He served as Deputy Secretary General of the Greek National Tourism Organisation from September 2012 to February 2014, and as its Secretary General from June 2017 to September 2019.

For a hotel owner or a tourism investor, that is the distinction that matters. Having sat on the administration’s side of the table, he understands how decisions on licensing, classification and the regulatory treatment of tourist accommodation are actually taken — not only how they are challenged afterwards.

The firm also advises international clients acquiring property, obtaining investor residence permits or establishing a corporate presence in Greece, combining legal due diligence on the investment itself with the handling of the procedures before the Greek authorities.

His professional philosophy rests on a straightforward proposition: the role of a modern lawyer is not to arrive once a dispute has begun, but to guide a business so that legal risk is identified and dealt with before it becomes litigation. The cost of that guidance is almost always a fraction of the cost of the dispute it prevents.

He advises in Greek and in English, and is a member of the Athens Bar Association, where his registration can be verified independently.
